Max Cabanes began his fantastic chronicle "Dans les Villages" in 1976. The first volume appeared in black and white, before continuing in color. The talented author (among other things) then collaborated with Jean-Claude Forest on "Roman de Renart" (1985, Futuropolis), completed "Rencontre du Troisième Sale Type" (1982, Dargaud), and explored autobiography with Colin Maillard in "Les Années Pattes d'Eph" (1986, 1992; Casterman). Along the way, in 1990, he was awarded the Grand Prix of Angoulême, recognizing his overall body of work. He joins the Europe Comics catalogue with the thriller "Princesse du sang" (Dupuis; "Ivory Pearl," Europe Comics), alongside Doug Headline in the adaptation of a novel by Jean-Patrick Manchette.
